Aspire To Go Higher

ASPIRE FOLXWe were created for progress. For the upwardly bound forward thinkers, movers and shakers, comfort zones are rest stops on the way to where you’re going. To get there you’ve got to go there, which means you’ve got to move. Riding a stationary bike is excellent cardio yet you will always be where you began. If you want to be somewhere else, you need to identify the most effective means of transportation to get you there. Faith, prayer, determination, commitment, a made-up mind, and a can-do attitude will take you to victorious, more-than-a-conqueror places.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and  faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

God used eagles to paint a word picture the readers could see. From Bible times to now, the eagle remains one of the most regal birds ever to grace God’s heavens. When we think of eagles, some words that come to mind are power, command, majestic, and capable. Eagles soar. It’s as if they own the sky when they fly.   EAGLE & RAINBOW

In this power passage, Isaiah tells us that we can expect to advance, which means we have God’s permission to aspire to go higher. When we wait on God to reveal a matter, illuminate a thing, equip us, prepare us, call us, and send us, we will occupy where we go. We will command it because God has performed it. You will be able to keep it because God will sustain it. You will mount up with eagle’s wings; will run and not get tired; you will walk and not faint.

Today, aspire to go higher. Reach for that goal that once intimidated you or even scared you. Commit more time to Bible study. Pray more. Praise more. Share Christ more. Take your marriage to a higher level. Reconcile that broken relationship. Forgive your friend. Hang out with your kids. Go get that job. Go back to school. Try out for that team. Apply for that home loan. Launch your dream business. Reach. Attain. Excel. Aspire to go higher.

Make It A Great Day

GREAT DAY2Every day is a new day. That means every day is a new opportunity for excellence. Every day is an opportunity to be more grateful than the day before. Every day is an opportunity to be better than you were yesterday. Every day is a new opportunity to aspire and go higher than you did the day before.

Every day is a new opportunity to dream big and then live the dream. Every day is a new opportunity to love more, give more, live more. Every day is a new opportunity to share generously. Every day is a new opportunity to pay kindness forward. Every day is a new opportunity to grow.GOOD DAY TO HAVE GREAT DAY

Make today a great day by starting it out with thanking God for a new day. Make today a great day by committing to being your best self. Make today a great day by setting ideal and real goals. Make today a great day by taking at least one step towards making your dreams come true.

Make today a great day by loving someone you used to, don’t want to, or found it hard to. Make today a great day by giving and living until you feel it. Make today a great day by sharing your experience, knowledge, you. Make today a great day by paying for someone else’s something who may be in front or behind you in line. Make today a great day by growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, according to 2 Peter 3:18. To Him be glory both now and for ever.  Amen.

You Can Change the World

CHANGE THE WORLD “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”  Matthew 28:19-20

Life happens. It’s happening all around. You can sit on the sidelines or you can jump in. Either way, life is going to happen. If you’re in it, you need to be in it to win it. That means truly participating. Observe, analyze, contemplate, act. Make up your mind to commit to wisdom and excellence in your life. Recognize it’s about time, which means time is of the essence. That means make every moment count because simply stated, we don’t have time to waste. You’ve heard the saying “here today gone tomorrow”? The real is “here today, gone today”. As you can tell by the news, tomorrow is not promised. That makes today prime and tomorrow premium. Time is more valuable than cash. It’s currency. It’s fluid. It’s limited. So don’t waste it. Pursue your passion. Press to be blessed. Position yourself to live the good life by living your dream. Despite what’s being reported, you’re newsworthy. You’re noteworthy. God created you to change the world, moments and minds at a time.

Love. Create. Inspire. Encourage. Influence. Transform.

It all begins with you.  You can change the world.

Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR2“For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”  Romans 13:9

When we consider what the Bible teaches about loving our neighbor as we love ourselves, we see that all of God’s will can be fulfilled in that one simple rule. If we love our neighbor, we will not commit adultery, we will not kill, we will not steal, we will not gossip, we will not lie, we will not judge, and we will not hate. Often times we lose sight of how easily we can fulfill most of what God commands us to do, if we just love each other.

Don’t Judge

JUDGE NOT“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”  Matthew 7:1-2

As followers of Christ we sometimes forget that we were all once unsaved sinners. Because of that, we sometimes begin to judge others. This verse reminds us that God will judge us the same way that we judge others. Let’s remember this basic concept that Jesus taught. When we judge others, we only bring judgement on ourselves.

When I Was A Child…

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:11

When I Was A Child I Thought As A ChildToday’s words of inspiration were inspired by the Enkindle Evangelists’ skit, A Note To My Younger Self.

As we grow, we learn from our experiences, successes, and mistakes. The same applies to our spiritual journey. How many times have you reacted in a childish way to a situation? You know, posting your business on Facebook, Twitter, etc. The adult thing to do is to take up your problems with whoever you have a problem with. In fact, it is the Bible that tells us how to handle our problems as adults:

“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.” – Matthew 18:15

We are supposed to learn and grow in our spiritual walk, otherwise, we remain children in the Word. Our theme this year is “ELEVATE”, which means going above and beyond where we were last year. Let’s make it an effort in 2014 to be wiser, put away childish things, and grow older in Christ.

For By Grace Are Ye Saved…

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” – Ephesians 2:8

The short definition of grace is: getting what we don’t deserve. It is through the grace of Jesus Christ that we have been offered the precious gift of salvation.

Remember: Salvation isn’t about what you do. It’s about who you know. We can’t earn our way into heaven, it is a gift that we have been freely given.

Let’s all take a few moments out of our day and praise God for salvation.
